CONCEPT ARTIST / ILLUSTRATOR – Belgrade, Serbia

Nordeus is looking for all-star Concept Artist / Illustrator to become part of talented team of game makers! Our Concept Artists / Illustrators work within teams of artists, programmers and product managers to build viral, fun, social games that are played by millions of users everyday!

Responsibilities:

The Concept Artist will be creating art assets that drive the visual identity and user interface of the game. This Artist will also create final in-game artwork and placeholder artwork as needed by engineering. This position will also work with web and marketing teams to create game-related artwork. The Concept Artist will spend most of their time designing 2D art, textures, icons, web ready art, etc.

Required Skills:

  • B.S. in Design, Multimedia or equivalent experience
  • Quick sketching and storyboarding experience
  • Ability to communicate visually, and to identify and define visual design issues and solutions
  • Excellent design and illustration skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting and composition
  • Versatile in both realistic and stylised artwork
  • Excellent Photoshop skills (CS3-4) in compositing, texture painting, tiling, retouch, filtering, scripting
  • Ability to paint complex multi-layered textures for 3D models (diffuse, bump, specular, displacement etc)
  • Knowledge of 3D painting programs (Mudbox, Bodypaint, Zbrush) and UV-mapping techniques is a huge plus
  • A passion for games, virtual worlds, and social networking

3D MODELLER – Belgrade, Serbia

Nordeus is looking for all-star 3D modeller to become part of their talented and growing team of game makers!

Responsibilities:

The 3D Modeller will need to work very closely with the texture painters and art director to generate models that are suitable for game-related artwork. The models may be organic in nature, such as various creatures or characters, or they may be models of rigid objects such as weapons, buildings, props or sets.

Required Skills:

  • B.A. or B.S. in Design, Multimedia or equivalent experience
  • Strong spatial awareness and a good sense of form, scale and proportion
  • A full working knowledge of various modeling techniques, polygon and sub-division surface modelling; organic and non-organic
  • Ability to deliver a “clean” model with tidy polygon/sub-d placement and good basic UV layout for texturing
  • Clear understanding of 3D lighting and rendering
  • Versatile in high, medium and low-poly modelling
  • Experience in game-assets preparation (shading, normal and specular mapping, texture tiling etc)
  • Experience in games development is a plus
  • Expert knowledge of materials, textures and UV-mapping techniques
  • Ability to communicate visually, and to identify and define visual design issues and solutions
  • Good Photoshop skills (CS3-4) for compositing, texture painting, tiling, retouch, filtering, scripting
  • Excellent design skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting and composition
