GAME DESIGNER – Belgrade, Serbia
Nordeus is looking for an experienced Lead Designer to work a popular MMO game that runs on social networks. Qualified candidates will have experience on console and/or PC games and are fluent in game design practices and overall game development.
Responsibilities:
- Create leading game features for new games
- Create or adapt leading game features to work with an existing game
- Pitch new ideas to the team/ hold brainstorming sessions
- Tune and model complex systems using Excel
- Write copy, names, and narrative elements of game
- Analyze real-time feedback and metrics, and adjust game designs accordingly
- Work with product managers, developers and artists to oversee the implementation of new features and systems
- Ability to describe user experience stories and create wireframe screens and flows
- Remain up-to-date with Game Design literature and best practices to be an evangelist for the craft of Game Design
Required Skills:
- Experience or knowledge of traditional board game, card game, or dice game design
- Expert with math and formulas in game environment
- Experience designing combat and/or system mechanics including player control, moves, and NPC/AI types and behaviors
- Strong knowledge of game balancing and pacing
- Adept with Excel/spreadsheets
- Passionate gamer
- 2 shipped games
- Game programming background required

- At least a B.Sc. in CS or equivalent university degree (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics).

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR – Linux – Belgrade, Serbia
Nordeus is looking for a mid level Linux Systems Administrator. We are looking for candidates that have experience supporting Linux operating systems in a 24×7 production web environment. Are you looking to join a team that’s committed to working on cutting edge technology, and having fun doing it?
Required Skills:
- BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience) required
- Linux/Unix systems administration experience
- Exposure to high-traffic environment (multi-gigabit)
- Expert knowledge of troubleshooting tools (i.e tcpdump, netstat, iostat, traceroute)
- Knowledge of Linux administration
- Systems administration-level knowledge of HTTP/Apache, DNS/BIND, SSH, SNMP, NFS, Perl and/or Shell, Puppet, Cacti, Nagios
- Experience with performance tuning, package installation, patch management updates, network and server management issues
- Experience managing multisite, large scale server farms required
- Experience with LDAP a plus
- Experience supporting complex systems in a 24×7 environment
- Experience in fast-pace consumer web environment is a big plus
