New Nordeus Donation Helps Equip 4 Maternity Wards in Vojvodina

Representatives from Nordeus and the B92 Fund visited the maternity hospital in Zrenjanin today and officially handed over the equipment worth 43.000 Euros. The equipment includes one incubator, a reanimation table, an ultrasound machine and a gas analyzer. Accompanied by Zrenjanin hospital staff, Nordeus representatives visited the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics where the equipment has been installed.

Nordeus has so far donated over 655.000 Euros to health care institutions in Serbia, and today announced it further plans to donate more funds with the goal of equipping seven more maternity hospitals around the country.

“As in any battle, it is important to persevere. That is why we have partnered with the B92 Fund in this endeavor for several years already. We find it hard to express how proud we are of the fact that this year, we are going to jointly declare victory in a total of eleven maternity wards across Serbia.

The equipment in some of them is several decades old and we can only imagine what a difference it will make to all the babies, mothers and staff whose job it is to ensure babies get the best and the safest start possible.

There are many young parents among Nordeus employees and some of them are from the cities in which we equip maternity wards. I believe that, especially for them, there is no better way to give back to their hometowns,” said Nordeus Communications and CSR Manager, Marija Beslać.

This official handover was also attended by the B92 Fund Chairman of the Board of Directors Veran Matić, who had this to say:

“Nordeus is a good example of a socially responsible company that regularly cares about the community and truly supports the struggle for a better society! We are happy and immensely grateful for, the years-long successful cooperation with Nordeus and we look forward to new victories.”

For his part, hospital director Dr. Jovan Sekulić, said, “I want to welcome this campaign and to express my gratitude to the B92 Fund and Nordeus for this great and important donation.

It is an indication that health care institutions in Serbia are not alone and that they can count on help in purchasing equipment that will improve the conditions in which our youngest and most loved ones come into this world. This campaign has helped us modernize and equip our Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. All that remains is to wish for as many babies as possible.”

Over the past five years, the B92 Fund has collected donations in the amount of 3 million Euros as part of the “Battle for Maternity Wards” campaign. This has resulted in fully equipping 30 maternity hospitals throughout Serbia.

Based on the announced future donations, eight more maternity wards will be equipped by the end of 2016. That will leave 14 more institutions to be equipped before the successful completion of the entire mission can be declared.
